Be Aware Kids Child Safety on Farms Poster Competition 2019

Date published: 12 April 2019

The Health and Safety Executive for Northern Ireland is committed to eliminating accidents on farms that in the past have resulted in children being killed.

Be Aware Kids

Through our “Be aware kids - Child safety on farms” campaign we have seen a significant reduction in such accidents. However, we must never be complacent and we need your help and support to make sure that this positive trend continues.

To support this campaign, your school is invited to enter our poster competition. To take part we would like each child to design an A3 poster. The poster must be submitted in portrait format and can either be drawn by hand or computer generated. The design of this poster will be based on the dangers encountered on a farm.

Closing date for entries is Friday 28 June 2019. The prizes will be awarded to the following categories and will be in the form of a gift card:

                                                1st place           2nd place          3rd place

Foundation                                 £50                  £30                     £20

Also the schools associated with the overall winner in each category will receive a cheque for £150. Winners will be notified when school reconvenes in September 2019.

In previous years HSENI has produced a calendar made up of the winning entries to the competition and the calendar has been distributed to over 42,000 rural homes, which have children of primary school age. HSENI hopes to produce a calendar for 2020 from the winning entries to this year’s competition.

If you would like to enter, either phone Martina Kennedy on 028 9054 7075 or email safestart@hseni.gov.uk to register and we will send you a competition pack. Alternatively you can download the poster template via the link below:
