The Carriage of Dangerous Goods and Use of Transportable Pressure
Equipment Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2010 (as amended).
Applicable to Carriage by Road Only
This authorisation is given in accordance with Regulation 9 (1) of The Carriage of Dangerous Goods and Use of Transportable Pressure Equipment Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2010 (Statutory Instrument 2010 No 160) (as amended), referred to hereafter as CDG (NI) 2010.
Purpose
To allow the carriage by road of UN 0336, FIREWORKS, in certain quantities without adherence to provisions of ADR 8.1.2.2 (a), 9.1.2, 9.2.2.4, 9.2.4.8.5, 9.3.3 (second subparagraph), and 9.3.7.3 (second subparagraph).
Time limit
This authorisation is effective from 21 August 2024 and remains valid until 31 January 2025, unless otherwise revoked.
Alternative carriage provisions
- By derogation from the provisions of ADR, Annex B, UN 0336, FIREWORKS, may be transported in the quantities shown below without fulfilling the requirements of paragraphs 8.1.2.2 (a), 9.1.2, 9.2.2.4, 9.2.4.8.5, 9.3.3 (second subparagraph), and 9.3.7.3 (second subparagraph).
- No more than 7,500kg of UN 0336 may be carried on any vehicle or on any combination of vehicles.
- Combustion heaters for the driver’s cab that do not comply with the requirements of paragraph 9.2.4.8.5 shall be turned off during transport, loading, unloading and handling of the dangerous goods.
- Packages shall be secured appropriately within the vehicle.
- The consignor shall enter the following in the transport document: "Carriage agreed according to HSENI Authorisation No. 1051 under the terms of Section 9 of The Carriage of Dangerous Goods and Use of Transportable Pressure Equipment Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2010.”
- A clean, legible copy of this Authorisation shall be carried in the driver’s cab of the transport unit.
- This Authorisation only applies to national carriage within Northern Ireland only.
All other provisions of CDG (NI) 2010 shall be complied with at all times.
